Coastal July 4th Celebration Must-haves

By the time Independence Day rolls around, our North Carolina beaches are abuzz with all kinds of exciting celebrations and events scheduled for the neighboring communities.

But if you’re looking for a more low-key kind of party at home while you’re still settling into your new house, the Michelle Clark Team has a few tips and essentials that you can use to pull off the ideal 4th of July festivity, right in your own backyard.

Seaside Southern Cuisine

Holidays almost always involve some sort of special treat or dish, and a summertime celebration on the coast is no exception. If you want to really embrace the local menu staples, try your hand at a southern-style barbecue, complete with vinegar-based sauces and meats and veggies prepared over a charcoal or gas grill. Located along the beach with access to plenty of fresh catches, our residents also tend to include some seafood in their party planning. If you’re feeling adventurous, look up a few recipes and pick up some supplies to add a little coastal flavor to your menu. And for dessert, why not indulge in a classic summertime favorite: a juicy slice of watermelon!

Summertime Fun

Our region is known for balmy temperatures throughout much of the year, and the summer season is no exception! Whether you’ve just relocated to the southeastern part of the state, or if you’re a born and bred local, you’ll want to make sure your backyard is on par with your expectations for a July 4th celebration. If you want some space for the kids to play, and for you to be able to relax and enjoy the outdoors, work some basic yard care, including gearing up the pool, into your schedule leading up to the big day.

Dinner and a View

Can you celebrate the 4th of July without fireworks? Here in coastal North Carolina, several sanctioned firework displays happen over the course of the holiday, and even often the night before as well! As you plan your own celebration of Independence Day, look into a few of these that are happening near you, and time your barbecues and get-togethers so that you can take part in a holiday tradition close to home.

Whether you plan on going out or staying in this July 4th holiday, the Michelle Clark Team hopes that you are able to embrace some holiday downtime in your new neighborhood! Keep an eye out for more news and tips for enjoying the coastal lifestyle here in North Carolina.
